The copolymer latex for an adhesive for rubber and fiber is obtained by a production method, in which the polymerization starts when a temperature T1 in the polymerization system is in the range of 0-40°C after the feed of a part of or all of the monomer is finished, and then the temperature T2 in the polymerization system is made to reach the range of 45-80°C, at least 15% of the heat quantity necessary to raise the temperature (T2-T1) is obtained by utilizing the heat of polymerization resulting from the polymerization.
