    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of accurately adjusting the excess length part of an optical waveguide against a metal tube without generating a corkscrew effect observed in a conventional technique. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method for an optical cable provided with the metal tube and the optical waveguide disposed in at least one metal tube, a metal band pulled out from a supply reel is gradually shaped into a slotted tube, the optical waveguide is inserted into the still open slotted tube, the lengthwise groove of the slotted tube is welded and the diameter of the welded tube is reduced. The welded tube is clamped by a lead-out device after a reduction process, transported in a manufacture direction and wound at least once around a lead-out board. A force producing the elastic expansion of the metal tube (13) in the manufacture direction is brought by the lead-out board (11) between the lead-out device (10) and the lead-out board (11) and the degree of the elastic expansion is controlled by the force.
