    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separating technique for separating even a small amount of samples of matter of small sizes such as nucleic acids and proteins at superior resolution in a short time and having few problems of clogging etc. SOLUTION: A large number of column-like bodies (pillars 125) are arranged in a pillar patch 121. A plurality of the pillar patches 121 are formed in a channel 123. Paths for the passage of the sample are provided between the adjacent pillar patches 121 in an adopted constitution. Molecules of large sizes pass between the pillar patches 121 and speedily flow out on one hand, and the outflow of small molecules are delayed since they are temporarily captured in the pillar patches 121 on the other.
