    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of applying a photocatalyst on a polyolefin based resin molding by which the photocatalyst such as titanium dioxide is prevented from being buried in a binder component used for the coating of the polyolefin based resin molding and a photocatalytic material having the photocatalyst densely and strongly bonded on the surface, having high activity and small peeling is manufactured. SOLUTION: The method of applying the photocatalyst is carried out by dipping the polyolefin based resin molding having a surface zeta potential adjusted to have positive (+) or negative potential (-) by the application of a primer material into a mixed solution having a photocatalyst/water weight ratio of 0.0005-0.1 and electrostatically bonding the photocatalyst having positive (+) or negative potential (-) opposed to the surface zeta potential of the molding to the molding and successively removing water.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple photocatalytic reactor tower for cleaning atmosphere capable of efficiently removing a volatile organic compound contained in the atmosphere in a low concentration by activating a photocatalyst with the sunlight. SOLUTION: The photocatalytic reactor tower for cleaning atmosphere comprises an outermost cylindrical body provided on its top part with an opening which receives the sun light and on its inner surface with a reflecting mirror which diffuses incident light, and in its center part a double-cylindrical body comprising an inside cylindrical body and an outside cylindrical body, the top end of the inside cylindrical body being opened and a photocatalyst layer irradiated with the reflected and diffused light being provided on the surface of the inside cylindrical body, the outside cylindrical body being disposed so as to contain the inside cylindrical body and the top end of the outside cylindrical body being closed, wherein the contaminated atmosphere containing the volatile organic compound flows in from the under part of the inside cylindrical body and the atmosphere cleaned by a photocatalytic reaction flows out from the under part of the outside cylindrical body. The opening of the uppermost part of the outermost cylindrical body has preferably a slanted structure. It is useful for cleaning an atmosphere in a room where the sunlight does not reach, especially for an exhaust gas from an automobile or that from a factory treating the volatile organic compound.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of efficiently reforming oil in a low cost by selectively oxidizing heterocyclic compounds bearing condensed rings that exists in the oil through photoctalytic reactions, particularly dibenzothiophene that is very difficult to be desulfurized and removing the formed oxides, and to provide an efficient and low cost hydrosulfurization process using the reforming process.
      SOLUTION: As a pretreatment process for the hydrodesulfurization process for oil, the oil including heterocyclic compounds bearing condensed rings is irradiated with light in the presence of a low polar hydrocarbon solvent and a photocatalyst and the oxidized products of the heterocyclic compounds are dissolved in the solvent and removed whereby the oil is reformed.
