    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zeolite separation membrane which is a thin zeolite layer deposited in fine pores existing on the surface of a porous substrate.
      SOLUTION: In a method for forming a fine silicalite membrane on the surface of the porous substrate, silica seed crystals are deposited on the surface of the porous substrate by applying voltage across electrodes in the presence of the porous substrate in a state of dispersing the silica seed crystals in an organic solvent or water and the silica seed crystals are grown by hydrothermally synthesizing synthetic gels obtained by adding a silica source, an alkaline source and a template on the substrate to ion exchange water to adjust them. Further, in a method for forming a fine silicalite membrane on the surface of the porous substrate, the silica seed crystals are deposited on the surface of the porous substrate by applying voltage across the porous substrate and the electrode, then the silica seed crystals are grown by hydrothermally synthesizing synthetic gels obtained by adding the silica seed crystal on the substrate, the silica source, the alkaline source, and the template to the ion exchange water to adjust them.
