    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nanocarbon material composite with a silicon oxide particle as a nucleus, having high resistance properties, a large surface area and excellent process aptitude, a method for producing the same, and an electron emission element and an electronic device, such as a surface-emitting element, using the same. SOLUTION: The nanocarbon material composite 1 consists of silicon oxide particles 2 and nanocarbon fibers 3 formed on the surface of the silicon oxide particles 2 directly or through a metal or metal compound. The electron emission element using a nanocarbon material composite comprises an electrically conductive layer disposed on a substrate and a nanocarbon material composite obtained by forming a nanocarbon material having a spiral structure and a fibrous nanocarbon material on a silicon oxide particle directly or through a metal or metal compound, wherein the nanocarbon material composite is disposed on the electrically conductive layer and emits electrons under a strong electric field.
