    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen producing apparatus by a steam reforming system where hydrogen can be produced without energy supply from outside to the hydrogen producing apparatus. SOLUTION: The hydrogen producing apparatus 10 has a first reaction chamber 11, a second reaction chamber 12 and a partition 20 to partition the first reaction chamber and the second reaction chamber. The partition has a plate-like base material 21, a first catalyst 23 supported at the first reaction chamber side of the base material and a second catalyst 28 supported at the second reaction chamber side of the base material. The first catalyst accelerates a reaction between a hydrocarbon and steam in the first reaction chamber.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long life reactor which carries out reaction at a high efficiency with low pressure loss. SOLUTION: The reactor 10 has a layered structure 20 formed by laminating one or more sheet-like members 30. Each sheet-like member includes a base part 35 and a plurality of projected pieces 40 standing up on the base part. The width w1 in the base end part 41 of each projected piece is narrower than the width w2 of the tip end part 42. In the layered structure, the tip ends of the projected parts stood up on one base part are brought into contact with one face of another base part which has the projected parts stood up on the other face.
