    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce crosstalk noises generated by overlapping a messenger signal over a quantum signal temporally in a messenger type quantum key distribution system of CW where photons are generated at random. SOLUTION: The quantum key distribution system uses one photon of an entangled photon pair as the messenger signal to notify arrival of the other photon of the entangled photon pair. A transmitter includes: a photon pair generating source which generates the entangled photon pair; an optical detector which detects one photon of the entangled photon pair; a laser beam source for a messenger which generates the messenger signal by being detected by the photon detector; a delay regulator which delays the quantum signal which is the other photon of the entangled photon pair; and a wavelength multiplexing filter which sends the messenger signal generated by a messenger signal generating module and the quantum signal delayed by the delay regulator out to a transmission line while wave-multiplexing them. Delay time in the delay regulator makes a delay of the messenger signal with respec to the quantum signal in the transmission line become dead time of a photon detector or less.
