    • PURPOSE:To obtain a soft ferrite by using the Mn oxide and Zn oxide obtained by sorting a Mn dry cell from a waste dry cell, sifting after pulverizing to obtain the matter consisting essentially of a positive electrode active substance and calcinating after washing. CONSTITUTION:The Mn dry cell is sorted from the waste dry cell, moreover, a high performance Mn dry cell is sorted by shape, weight, color, etc. Then, the matter consisting essentially of the positive electrode active substance is pulverized in about 1-4mm grain size, sifted and washed with an ion exchanged water of 2-10 times volum to remove Na and K compd., CaO, MgO, chroline compd., etc. After that, the matter is calcinated at about 700-950 deg.C under an oxidizing atmosphere and pulverized, and the powdery mixture of Mn oxide and Zn oxide containing about 57.4-66.0wt.% Mn content expressed in terms of MnO, about 26.2-31.8wt.% Zn content expressed in terms of ZnO and small amount of impurity is obtained. The powdery mixture is mixed with Fe2O3 in a specified ratio, and after calcinating at about 700-1100 deg.C in air, a calcinated matter is pulverized and formed, and sintered at about 1100-1400 deg.C in air, and Mn-Zn series ferrite is obtained.
