SOLUTION: This part feed device comprises a drum hopper 9 capable of storing a plurality of parts such as screws, roller shafts 15 and 15 disposed at specified intervals, parallel with each other, and aslant at specified angles so that parts supplied from the drum hopper 9 can be supported and capable of conveying the supported parts by the rotation thereof by the driving of a motor 3, and pitch adjusting shafts 17 and 18 installed continuously with the roller shafts 15 and 15 and having spiral grooves 17a and 18a formed so that parts can be supportedly fitted to the circular surface thereof. The parts supported by the roller shafts and conveyed are supportedly fitted into the spiral grooves 17a and 18a of the pitch adjusting shafts 17 and 18, and conveyed along the spiral grooves by the rotation of the pitch adjusting shafts. Thus the parts can be conveyed with the intervals of the parts positioned at a specified interval up to a part departure position set on the pitch adjusting shafts.

Therefore, off-command signal is outputted to each motor controlling switch 10, both motor controlling switches 10 are made off, and at the same time the brake action command signal is outputted to a brake circuit 13, the brake circuit 13 is acted, even if the rotation of inertia of a motor 3 exists, this rotation is stopped at once. In this state, whether the voltage value of a voltage detecting part 13a to detect the voltage applied to the motor 3 is 0 level or not is judged, when this is not 0 level, the motor controlling switch 10 of the input side is judged as the trouble of the short circuit state.
