    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high capacity lithium secondary battery for preventing the occurrence of coating film cracks and separation of the coating film from a conductive base body by enhancing adhesive strength of a sheet-like positive electrode coating film. SOLUTION: A lithium secondary battery is manufactured, which has a sheet- like positive electrode 1 in which a coating film containing a positive electrode active material, an electron conduction auxiliary agent and a binder is formed on a conductive base body, and in which the binder of the sheet-like positive electrode 1 contains resin or rubber soluble in at least polythetrafluoroethylene and an organic solvent. At least the electron conduction auxiliary agent excluding the positive electrode material is added to the aqueous dispersion of polytetrafluorothylene so as to be stirred and mixed in advance, then, the mixture is dried to prepare polytetrafluorothylene - containing powder. Coating prepared by adding at least the positive electrode active material and the organic solvent to the polytetrafluoroethylene - containing powder so as to be stirred and mixed is applied onto the conductive base body and is dried to manufacture the sheet-like positive electrode 1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent deterioration in recording and reproducing characteristics by controlling the squareness ratio SRm of a magnetic layer containing a magnetic powder formed on a substrate to >=0.75 and controlling the squareness ratio SRs of the surface layer of the magnetic layer to >=0.60 SRs. SOLUTION: By sealing a solvent 15 included in a magnetic coating material in the lower part of a vapor pressure controlling tank 10, the vapor pressure of the vapor 16 of the solvent 15 is maintained almost 100% during a nonmagnetic coating material and a magnetic coating material are applied to form a nonmagnetic layer 7 as a lower layer and a magnetic layer 8 as an upper layer in a duct 2. Therefore, during this process, the magnetic layer 8 which is formed by applying the magnetic coating material and is not dried can not be dried or semi-dried and the magnetic powder in the surface layer of the magnetic layer 8 is sufficiently oriented. Thus, deterioration in orientation in the surface layer of the magnetic layer of the produced magnetic recording medium is suppressed and deterioration in recording and reproducing characteristics of the magnetic recording medium can be effectively prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce friction coefficient and to improved durability by providing a lubricant replenishment layer containing a lubricant and a solid additive with a specific hardness on a substrate film and then forming a ferromagnetic metal thinfilm layer with a spacing of specific width on it. CONSTITUTION:A lubricant paint, where a solid additive 5 of a Mohs hardness of 4 or higher which is subjected to hydrophobic treatment along with a lubricant is combined and dispersed along with a binder resin and an organic solvent, is applied onto a substrate film 1 and then is dried for forming a lubricant replenishment layer 2. Then, a ferromagnetic material is subjected to inclination deposition on the layer 2 for forming a ferromagnetic metal thin-film layer 3. In this case, a protruding part 51 of the additive 5 is formed on the surface of the layer 2 and a spacing 6 with a proper width is formed in the layer 3 on deposition. Then, by adjusting the particle diameter and the amount of constituent of the additive 5, the width of the spacing 6 is set to 1,000Angstrom or less and the number of particles within 1 mm is set to 1 or more, thus exuding the lubricant in the layer 2 via the spacing 6 for proper reinforcement and hence reducing friction coefficient, securing running stability, and improving durability.

    • PURPOSE:To uniformly finish the surface of a tape by running the tape on a sliding member having an edge constituted of adjacent faces and controlling the contact pressure of the tape and the edge of the sliding member according to the displacement of a sliding-contact surface. CONSTITUTION:A laser displacement meter 27 is connected to an electronic device 28 for the displacement meter and the displacement of the sliding-contact surface during the time when the tape 4 comes into sliding contact with the edge 16 of the sliding member 15 is detected by a prescribed program. A change in the displacement quantity with time is recorded by a recorder 29. A tape traveling controller 30 controls the contact pressure of the tape 4 with the edge 16 of the sliding member 15 to a constant pressure according to the displacement of the sliding-contact surface. The surface of the tape 4 is finished by this constant contact pressure and the surface of the tape 4 is uniformly finished regardless of the wear of the edge 16 of the sliding member 15.

    • PURPOSE:To permit efficient cutting by guiding the laser beam from a laser oscillator through laser light paths constituted of optical fibers to laser light projecting sections and projecting the laser beam to a traveling raw sheet of a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Many pieces of processing heads 3 are installed slidably to a sliding guide bar 5 and are arrayed in the direction perpendicular to the shearing direction of the raw sheet 7 of the magnetic recording medium. The laser beams guided from the laser oscillator 1 to a light wave front dividing device 2 and branched by a half mirror built therein are guided to these heads 3 respectively by using the optical fibers 6. The cutting with high accuracy is thereby easily executed even if the cutting width is about 10mm in the case of cutting plural pieces of tapes simultaneously from the broad raw sheet of the magnetic recording medium. Constitution of the adjusting mechanism of high accuracy to a smaller device is thus permitted without giving any restriction at all to the spaces in the laser light paths.
