    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a PTFE porous membrane from being damaged even when a filter medium is pleated through pleating work by improving the surface state of the filter medium and to provide the filter medium for air filter suitable to a clean space required for a clean room. SOLUTION: A polytetrafluoroethylene porous membrane 2 and an air-permeable supporting material 1 are stacked so that at least one exposed face is formed out of the surface of the air permeable supporting material 1 by making the maximum frictional resistance to less than 25 gf to obtain the filter medium for an air filter.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air filter medium where the seizing performance of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is not deteriorated even if processing such as pleating and bonding processing with gas permeable supports are performed thereon. SOLUTION: In a laminate 2 containing at least three-layered PTFE porous film, the pressure drop of an outermost layer PTFE porous film 4 is designed to be less than half of that of at least one intermediate layer PTFE porous film 5. The air filter medium 1 is obtained by bonding the gas-permeable supports 3 to both the outermost layers of the laminate 2. The pressure drop of a first polytetrafluoroethylene porous film is 2 to 15 mm H 2 O, the pressure drop of a second polytetrafluoroethylene porous film is 10 to 30 mm H 2 O, and the PF value of the air filter medium is 17 or more.
