CONSTITUTION:The coils 9a, 9b are set as long extending toward the same direction as the long side dams 4a, 4b at near gap S of outer part of the long side dams 4a, 4b, and by conducting the high frequency current to these, AC magnetic field is acted to the molten metal in pouring basin. At the same time of generating the AC magnetic field H in the molten metal, on the surface layer part of the solidified shell 18 of the shells 8a 8b formed at the circular surfaces of the rolls, eddy current having reverse phase to the coil current is conducted. By the relative action between the eddy current conducted on this solidified shell surface and the magnetic field A, the electromagnetic force is worked. Therefore, by suitably adjusting the intensity of the electromagnetic force, this is almost equalized with the static pressure of the molten metal penetrated into the gap S or by making this a little higher than the static pres sure thereof, the molten metal flow flowing into the gap S can be controlled.

As an injection port 2a of the long nozzle 2 is immersed in the stainless molten steel 3 in the tundish 101, the stainless molten steel 3 is injected in the tundish 101 through the long nozzle 2, and the stainless molten steel 3 in the tundish 101 is injected in a mold 105 to continuously cast the stainless steel piece 3c.
