    • PURPOSE:To maintain quality of coated film at a fixed level by recovering water fed to a specified position of a painted article at a pretreating stage of painting, measuring the concentration of contaminating component in the recovered water and performing washing with water in accordance with the concn. of the contaminating component. CONSTITUTION:In the process for controlling the degree of contamination due to foreign matters remaining on the surface of an object to be painted in a painting process, a specified position of an object to be painted 10 conveyed by a transporting device 12 is allowed to contact with an opening end of a measuring chamber 16 of a measuring device E for degree of contamination in a water-washing stage. By feeding pure water from a feed source, the contacting part is washed and contaminants sticking thereto are mixed in the pure water. The water used for washing is transferred to a tank 31 where a sensor is held and the quality of the water is determined with the sensor and a water quality determining device 33. The degree of opening or closing of a valve for the pure water source, the angle of inclination of a nozzle, and the pressure of spray, etc., are adjusted by the fedback signal. Thus, the degree of contamination of a painted surface is held within a fixed range and maintains the quality of painted film at a fixed level.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the titled sealing material which is suitable for use in prevention of occurrence of rust in the hemming portion of doors etc. of automobiles, and having excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance and good sealing properties, by impregnating a nonwoven fabric with a specified epoxy resin compsn. and molding it into a film. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. epoxy resin such as a bisphenol A type epoxy resin, etc., is blended with 10-100pts.wt. aliph. petroleum resin which is composed of 1,3-pentadiene unit, etc., and a solid at room temp., a curing agent such as a latent curing agent which is stable at room temp. but active at a high temp. (e.g., dicyandiamide) and optionally, not more than 100pts.wt. (based on the total amount of the resins) filler such as silica, talc, etc. to obtain an epoxy resin compsn. While the compsn. is molten in a press or a calender roll, nonwoven fabric (e.g., rayon nonwoven fabric) is impregnated with said compsn. under pressure to form an impregnated nonwoven fabric having a predetermined thickness. The fabric is then molded into a film to obtain the titled sealing material.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an integrated coating film excellent in rust-proof property by assembling an Al member subjected to preliminary zinc phosphate pretreatment into a steel product and successively performing zinc phosphate pretreatment, undercoating, intercoating and topcoating. CONSTITUTION:After wiping off press oil, rust-proof oil and dust, etc., stuck on the surface of an Al member, degreasing with a solvent and washing with water, a coated phosphate film having a passive state is formed on the surface by performing preliminary chemical conversion treatment with a zinc phosphate pretreating agent. Then the Al member obtained after the above-mentioned treatment is washed with water and thereafter it is heated at about 100 deg.C and dried. Thereafter the Al member finished with chemical treatment as in the above-mentioned method is assembled into a white body consisting of a steel product before pretreatment. Then after again subjecting the Al member assembled into the steel product to chemical treatment with the zinc phosphate pretreating agent, an integrated coating film excellent in rustproof properties is formed on the surface of the Al member by successively performing an ordinary coating process such as undercoating, intercoating and topcoating.
