    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate deterioration without cutting off a secondary battery from load by measuring an open-circuit time necessary for decreasing the voltage of a secondary battery to a minimum threshold voltage, and discriminating it to be deteriorated, if it reaches a prescribed threshold value. SOLUTION: A deterioration discrimination circuit DC1 of a secondary battery is constituted, by including a secondary battery 1, a constant circuit 2 for charging it, a MOSFET 3 for controlling its charging condition, a Schmitt trigger circuit 8 for attaining a voltage discrimination circuit, and a comparator 15 for detecting the length of an open-circuit time. By taking the time required to decrease the voltage of the secondary battery 1 to the minimum threshold value voltage as an open-circuit time T in one cycle of charging condition during intermittent charging of the secondary battery 1 and an open-circuit condition, and preparing data indicating a relation between the open-circuit time T and a capacity Q of the secondary battery 1, it is discriminated to be deteriorated, if the open-circuit time T decreases to a prescribed threshold value Tf or lower in the process of intermittent charging. It is thus possible to discriminate the deterioration in the secondary battery, without cutting off the secondary battery from load.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a power chamber and to enhance reliability by distributing a commercial power supply to a distribution chamber as it is, DC-converting the outputs of a plurality of generators in the power chamber at the time of power interruption, and distributing the power through the same power transmission line to the distribution chamber. CONSTITUTION:In a power supply system for transmitting DC power from a power chamber E to a power distribution chamber D without power interruption, a changeover switch 15 is provided in the chamber E, and the AC power is supplied to an AC/DC converter 5 in the chamber D when a commercial power supply 1 is normal. A plurality of AC generators 3A, 3B and AC/DC converters 14A, 14B for converting the outputs of the generators are mounted in the chamber E. When a power interruption detection/changeover switch controller 13 detects the power interruption of the power supply 1, the switch 15 is switched, and the AC outputs of the generators 3A, 3B are converted to DC powers, which are supplied through the same power transmission line to the converter 5 of the chamber D.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of a rectifier by rectifying while pulse-width- modulating with high frequency, thereby responding at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:A rectifier is composed of a rectifying circuit 7 having a high frequency phase control function and a controller 8 for controlling it. The circuit 7 is composed of a transformer with an intermediate tap at the secondary side, a switching circuit of switch elements 11, 12, and a DC filter of a reactor 13 and a capacitor 14. This switching circuit generates a pulse of high frequency on the basis of an AC input, inverts the polarity of the pulse at every half cycle of the AC input to obtain a DC output of a pulse train aligned in the polarity. A DC output voltage Vc is controlled by altering the pulse width of the voltage Vb by varying the ratio of ON/OFF periods of the elements 11, 12.
