    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide (1) a method for coating an aqueous sealer capable of preventing peeling between the waterproof sealer and a basic material due to warm water and imparting excellent waterproof properties by coating an impregnated sealer and a waterproof sealer in a wet-on-wet manner and (2) a coated product obtained by the method. SOLUTION: The method comprises (1) a process of coating an aqueous sealer (a) to the basic material and (2) a process of coating an aqueous sealer (b) to the basic material obtained by the process (1). The sealer (a) contains (a1) a styrene-(meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester type copolymer emulsion resin of a specified composition and (a2) a water-soluble silicate. The sealer (b) contains a styrene-(meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester type copolymer emulsion resin (b1) of a specified composition. The processes (1) and (2) are carried out in a wet-on-wet manner. The concentration of the chlorine element in the coated film provided by the coating composition is 1-20 mass%, and the mass proportion of the organic components in the coating composition is 5-30%.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back sealer for an inorganic ceramic building material having excellent waterproofness, blocking resistance and slip-proof properties.
      SOLUTION: The back sealer comprises an emulsion resin, amorphous silica and a wax aqueous dispersion. The emulsion resin is obtained by carrying out two-stage polymerization of a first monomer mixture and a second monomer mixture. Furthermore, the glass transition temperature possessed by the second monomer mixture is higher than that possessed by the first monomer mixture by ≥20°C. The monomer mixture composed of the first monomer mixture and the second monomer mixture contains, based on the total amount thereof, 5-70 mass% of styrene, 0.1-10 mass% of an alkoxysilyl group-containing radically polymerizable monomer and 0.1-5.0 mass% of a carboxy group-containing radically polymerizable monomer. The glass transition temperature of the monomer mixture is 30-105°C.
