    • PURPOSE:To obtain easily a highly viscous paving asphalt by mixing a specified oil obtained by solvent-deasphalting a vacuum distillation residue with a specified (semi-)finished petroleum product. CONSTITUTION:A solvent-deasphalted oil containing at least 13wt.% asphaltene and obtained by solvent-deasphalting a vacuum distillation residue is mixed with a finished petroleum product having a flash point of 150 deg.C or above and/or a semifinished petroleum product to produce a highly viscous paving asphalt. Conventionally, a road paved with straight asphalt is problematic in that it easily undergoes rutting, and a countermeasure is to use semiblown asphalt produced by blowing air into a vacuum distillation residue at elevated temperature of 150-300 deg.C for several hours. However, this is disadvantageous in that it requires many production equipments, a road paved with it is easily cracked, and it is easily deteriorated by heating during transportation, storage and mixing with an aggregate. According to this process, a highly viscous paving asphalt free from such disadvantages can be obtained by a simple mixing operation.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain high-purity butadiene from a mixture of 4C hydrocarbons, by using a solvent consisting of a phosphate compound such as trimethyl phosphate, dimethyl phosphate, or its mixture as a main component through extractive distillation.
      CONSTITUTION: A mixture of 4C hydrocarbons obtained by decomposing thermally petroleums or dehydrogenating butane-butenes, preferably a mixture of 4C hydrocarbons, obtained by hydrogenating the mixture of 4C hydrocarbons in the presence of a catalyst in a liquid or vapor phase so that acetylenes are hydrogenated selectively to make an acetylene content of ≤1,000ppm based on butadiene, is preferably subjected to the first step extractive distillation operation using a selective solvent consisting essentially of a phosphate compound (e.g., triethyl phosphate, etc.) to remove paraffins and olefins, and subjected to the second step extractive distillation operation to remove acetylenes. Consequently, high-purity butadiene is obtained.
