    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device for controlling shipment management and manufacture of a product with a spangle that has a size required by a customer by applying light from a light source to a steel with a directivity, picking up the image of the light and shade pattern of the spangle appearing at the part where light is applied, and processing the picked-up image with an operation means for obtaining the size of a light or a shade part. SOLUTION: Light is applied to a steel plate 1 at a narrow angle of approximately five degrees by using a light source 2 that is formed in a sheet shape and has strong directivity, and the image of the steel plate 1 is picked up from an angle that is vertical to the steel plate 1 or is inclined to a light source incidence side by a camera 3, thus capturing light and shade images due to the light reflection anisotropy of a spangle and measuring size due to image processing by a personal computer 6. The image is taken into a memory as a digital signal with 8 bits and 256 gradations using the personal computer 6 and shading compensation for eliminating brightness nonuniformity is performed to normalize an average brightness to the level of 127 brightness. Binarization is performed with an appropriate threshold for extracting the spangle, and a diameter is obtained according to the area of each particle.

    • PURPOSE:To restrain heat loss with the atmospheric air and to minimize loss of plating bath caused by the oxidation of hot dip metal by arranging an upper cover directly contacting with a pot for hot dipped metal coating and the plating bath surface in a preliminary pot. CONSTITUTION:A steel strip 3 is introduced into the galvanizing bath 20 in the pot 2a through a snout 4 and taken out on the galvanizing bath surface by changing the direction with a sink roll 5 to adjust galvanizing stuck quantity with squeezing nozzles 6a, 6b. In the hot dip galvanizing, the ceramics-made upper cover 1a is dipped and arranged on the molten zinc surface in the pot 2a. This upper cover 1a is desirable to arranged to a supplying hole after supplying metal 7. As the above ceramics, SiC, Al2O3, etc., having difficult-to-erode to the molten zinc and excellent heat insulation is desirable. By this method, thermal diffusion caused by convection of the atmospheric air is prevented, and also the oxidation caused by contact with the atmospheric air is prevented and the production efficiency in the plating line can be improved.
