摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melting furnace and a melting method for waste capable of recovering phosphorus from the waste with high purity. SOLUTION: A present melting furnace for waste is adapted such that waste containing a phosphorus compound and a carbon source are heated under a reducing atmosphere whereby melts and high temperature gas involving vaporized phosphorus. The melting furnace includes a compartment wall 13 provided in the melting furnace for dividing an upper space of a melt layer 41 formed with the melts in the melting furnace into a first zone 11 and a second zone 12 adjoining horizontally, and further includes a waste supply section 2 communicated with the first zone 11 for supplying waste into the melting furnace a carbon source supply section 3 communicated with the second zone 12 for supplying a carbon source into the melting furnace, and an exhaust section 4 communicated with the second zone 12 for exhausting the high temperature gas from the melting furnace.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of dust of alkali metal salts by keep the temperature of a gas phase in a melting furnace. SOLUTION: In a melting furnace body 10, molten salts on a molten slag layer 42 are heated by high-temperature molten slag during a melting treatment of a incineration residue, thereby many of the salts are gasified to move into a gas phase. The amount of the gas generated at the melting is very small, so that the resultant gas moves toward a gas discharge pipe 13 at an extremely slow speed. In such a condition, the gas phase is heated by a heater 14 so as to keep its temperature at a set temperature between 700 and 1,000 deg.C. Thereby, heavy metal salts in the gasified molten salts together with exhaust gas are drawn to the outside of the furnace as gas. However, alkali metal salts are condensed to become particles of the molten salts, and, while staying in the furnace, they are flocculated with newly condensed salts to grow and to drop down. The alkali metal salts, which have dropped down, are returned to a molten salt layer 41, then drawn out.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To melt incineration residue containing salts without producing a molten salt layer substantially in a melting furnace by blowing nonoxidative gas into the gas-phase part in the melting furnace thereby increasing exhaust gas from the melting furnace. SOLUTION: Incineration residue is loaded into a furnace stored with molten slag 31 while being kept at 1300 deg.C-1400 deg.C by conducting an electrode 11 and then subjected to melting. The incineration residue is thrown into the furnace through a loading pipe 12 and covered with molten slag 31. The incineration residue 30 covered with molten slag 31 is preheated with heat transferred from the molten slag before being melted. Fused salt produced at the time of melting the incineration residue is heated up to high temperature and vaporized sequentially to leave only a small quantity of fused salt on the molten slag layer 31. During the melting process, nonoxidative gas, e.g. nitrogen gas, is blown from a gas blowing pipe 13 in order to increase the volume of gas being discharged from an exhaust gas pipe 14. Particles of vaporized salts are carried on the gas flow and discharged from the gas outlet 14 to the outside of the furnace.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover phosphorus by simple treatment such that a carbon source is mixed with incineration ash and the resulting mixture is charged in a hermetically closed heating furnace to be heated and the exhaust gas containing volatilized elemental phosphorus is brought into contact with water to condense elemental phosphorus to collect the same. SOLUTION: Incineration ash and a carbon source are introduced into a mixer 10 in a powder form to be mixed with each other and to be sent to a granulator 11, and a slight amt. of a granulating aid and water are added to the resulting mixture to form granules and these granules are dried to be charged in a hermetically closed heating furnace 12 to be heated to 1,000-1,250 deg.C. By this method, a phosphorus compd. in incineration ash is reduced to form elemental phosphorus, which is, in turn, volatilized as phosphorus vapor. The elemental phosphorus is held to a temp. of 300 deg.C or higher so that the phosphorus vapor is not coagulated to be sent to a condenser 22 and the condensed elemental phosphorus falls along with sprayed water to be drawn out to a yellow phosphorus storage tank 23 to be recovered.

The molten material is retained in the fusion furnace and separated into a molten slag layer 41, a molten salt layer 40 and a molten metal layer 42. Molten slag is separated, discharged and applied to quenching treatment in a cooling process 30.
