    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an incineration ash detoxification process by which detoxification of toxic substances contained in incineration ash, such as halogen- based substances (e.g. dioxins) and heavy metals, can be performed inside an incinerator used, without using a fusion furnace for treating the incineration ash, and also to provide an incinerator capable of detoxifying such incineration ash by using the detoxification process. SOLUTION: This process involves, in an waste incinerator provided with fire grates, raising the temperature of incineration ash on certain one of the fire grates to >=250 deg.C, preferably by at least one of the following procedures (a) to (d): (a) controlling the movement rate of incineration ash on a final combustion stage fire grate; (b) heating incineration ash on the final combustion stage fire grate by using burners; (c) placing a barrier on the final combustion stage fire grate on its downstream side; and (d) supplying an oxidizing agent of a temperature exceeding ordinary temperature, to the inside of a combustion chamber from above the final combustion stage fire grate and also controlling the flow rate of the oxidizing agent supplied to the inside of the combustion chamber from below the final combustion stage fire grate.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently heat and granule by drying a waste plastic, regulating its moisture content to a specific value or below, and then granulating the plastic by a die granulator. SOLUTION: The waste plastic 6 in which a film-like plastic is separated is comminuted in a suitable size by a comminutor 2, heater or dried by an air flow by a dryer 3, or wet gravity separated, then dehydrated, or a chlorine- containing plastic is separated by a centrifugal specified gravity separator and simultaneously dehydrated to regulate its moisture content to 20% or below. Then, the plastic is granulated by avoiding a closure in the die by a die type granulator 4 while eliminating melt insufficiency or an excess melting of the plastic. The film-like plastic separated from the plastic 6 is also similarly treated, and granulated by the granulator 4. Thus, closure of the granulator 4 can be avoided, no trouble of granulating fault occurs, and granules 5 of good quality can be continuously obtained. The film-like plastic can also be improved in its granulating efficiency.
