    • PURPOSE:To measure the fluidized state of the raw material in a blast furnace in real time by deciding the part as a fluidized part when the variation value caused by the movement of red-hot coke is lower than a specific reference value. CONSTITUTION:A maximum luminance selector 12 is provided with memories respectively corresponding to each picture element and the memories are present to values corresponding to minimum luminance at the initial time of a period. Whenever new data are inputted, thereafter, the new data are compared with the contents of the memories and, when the new data are larger, the contents of the memories are updated to the new data by replacement. When the contents of the memories are read out after the elapse of a fixed period, the values correspond to the maximum luminance signals of the period. Signals from the maximum luminance selector are inputted to a uniform luminance signal section identification device 13 where spatial variable amount is calculated. The spatial variable amount thus calculated are compared with specified values at every picture element and the part where the variable amount is lower than the specific value is discriminated as a uniform luminance signal section. Therefore, the area of a fluidized part of the surface of the raw material in a blast furnace can be detected accurately in real time.
