CONSTITUTION:An intermediate deflector roll 3 is provided between the lower throat 1 and the lower deflector roll 2 in the vertical direct-fired heating furnace. A metallic strip 4 is deflected in the opposite direction to the traveling of the horizontal path immediately before the strip 4 is transferred to the horizontal path by the deflector roll 3. Consequently, the tension exerted on the strip 4 is increased, the strip is not brought into contact with the wall of the throat 1 when being passed through the throat, and the strip 4 is not scuffed. Furthermore, a pan 5 is provided on the horizontal path side of the deflector roll 3 to collect the broken brick pieces 6, etc., falling from the upper part of the furnace, and the denting of the strip 4 by the deflector roll 2, etc., is prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the size of dehumidifying and cooling installations and perform titled rust preventing and cooling by containing annealed coils in respective chambers, supplying a small amount of dehumidifying air into the respective chambers and properly operating the fan cooler units provided in each chamber. CONSTITUTION:Cold rolled coils 6 having undergone annealing are changed into respective chambers 71-7n through their shutters 70. Thence, in the chambers 71- 7n, respective fans 14 and cooler units 15 are operated and the dehumidifying air fed from air feed ducts 51-5n is circulated in the chambers and is blown to the coils 6 from nozzles 16. The air elevated of temp. by the coils 6 is again cooled by the units 15, thus the chamber inside is controlled to prescribed temps., and the respective coils 6 are rust prevented and cooled. After the completion of the cooling of the coils 6, the operations of the fans 14 and the units 15 are stopped and only the dehumidifying air is supplied in a small mount into the chambers 71-7n through the ducts 51-5n, thence the coils 6 are stocked and rust prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To heat and anneal the entire part of coils uniformly with good thermal efficiency by disposing radiant tubes on the top and side surfaces of the coils, and heating the coil through circulation of radiant heat and high temp. atmosphere gases in a box type annealing furnace for annealing coils. CONSTITUTION:Radiant tubes 4 are disposed to the ceiling of annealing furnace 1, and baffle plates 5 are erected vertically on both sides of the furnace to constitute circulating flow passages 6 for the atmosphere gas in the furnace. Radiant tubes 7 and fans 8 are beforehand provided in these passages 6. The coils A put into the furnace are heated at the top surfaces by the radiation heat of the radiant tubes 4; at the same time, the high temp. atmosphere gas in the furnace flows through the passages 6, is heated by the tubes 7, is flowed through a plenum chamber B by the fans and circulates by passing the insides of the coils from the bottom surfaces of the coils A, and therefore the inside of the coil is heated quickly, and the coils A are heated and annealed uniformly in a short time.
