摘要： PURPOSE:To eliminate hydrocarbon at a low cost from a gas discharged from the purification step of a coke oven gas by sucking a hydrocarbon-contg. air near the opening area of an apparatus of the step, introducing the air into a recirculation line of a cooling gas in a coke dry-quenching apparatus, and thereby burning the hydrocarbon. CONSTITUTION:A red-hot coke 1 is put into the upper part of a cooling tower 1, cooled by being brought into contact with a cooling gas blown into the tower 1 by a blower 3, and discharged from the bottom of the tower 1. Separately a coke powder is removed by a dust remover 4 from the cooling gas going out through the upper part of the tower, heat is recovered from the gas by a waste heat boiler 2, and then the gas is recirculated to the cooling tower 1 by the blower 3. Hydrocarbon contained in the air present in and near the opening area of an apparatus of the purification step of a coke oven gas is burned by sucking the air to introduce it to a cooling gas recirculation line 5 which is installed before the waste heat boiler 2 of a coke dry-quenching apparatus. Thus, the hydrocarbon scattering from the opening area can be eliminated by a simple way.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a bent riser reduced in the deposition of carbon, etc., and requiring less frequent check, repair, etc., by coating the surface of its inside wall with a film comprising nitride ceramics and/or carbide ceramics. CONSTITUTION:A riser 5 to be shut with a cover 4 is attached to the opening 3 on the top of a coke oven 1 and connected to a gas collection pipe 7 through a bent riser 6. The surface of the inside wall of the riser 6 is coated with a film 8 of carbide ceramics, nitride ceramics or a combination thereof (exemplified by TiC, TiN or TiC+TiN). Thus, the bent riser 6 is reduced in the deposition of carbon, etc., and requires less frequent check, repair, etc., so that the coke oven gas can be smoothly recovered.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of gaseous H2S occurring in the sulfuric acid reducing bacteria generated in an active carbon adsorption column which is one of ammonia liquor treatment stages. CONSTITUTION:The oxidation/reduction potential in the treated water in the final active carbon treatment stage is measured and the quantity of the air to be blown into an aeration tank is so regulated that this oxidation/reduction potential attain >=40mV in the ammonia liquor treatment method of passing the ammonia liquor generated at the time of producing coke by carbonization of coal through the aeration tank, a flocculation settling tank, a filter tank and the active carbon adsorption column to remove impurities and releasing the ammonia liquor after lowering the impurity content down to a regulated value or below. The clouding of the treated water arising from the generation of the gaseous H2S is prevented.

摘要： PURPOSE:To inexpensively and easily treat generated drain by using the drain generated by desulfurization as the dilution water of wet oxidizing equipment. CONSTITUTION:The waste water sent from a desulfurizer is sent to a reaction tower 5 and (NH4)2SO4 formed by oxidizing reaction is sent to an ammonium sulfate factory. When the drain generated by wet desulfurization using monoethanolamine is introduced into high temp. and high pressure waste water wet oxidizing equipment, the temp. of waste water is lowered and poisonous SCN and HCN in the drain are decomposed to nonpoisonous SO4, CO2 and N2 and decomposed SO4 reacts with ammonia to become (NH4)2SO4. Therefore, the poisonous components in the drain are eliminated and only nonpoisonous CO2 and N2 remain. By this method, HCN or SCN contained in the generated drain can be easily removed without using steam.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain coke having a higher strength and containing less quality improver by adding sulfonated heavy oil to a coal blend for coke making and putting the formed mixture in a coke oven for dry distillation. CONSTITUTION:Heavy oil with a boiling point of not lower than 200 deg.C, preferably 200 to 535 deg.C, is sulfonated and optionally neutralized, thus forming a sulfonate of the heavy oil (e.g. a sodium salt of the sulfonated heavy oil) with a sulfone group addition ratio of 16 to 50wt.%, which sulfonate is preferably an ammonium salt, an alkali metal (e.g. Na, K or Li) salt, an alkaline earth metal (e.g. Mg, Ca or Ba) salt, or a salt of Fe or Al. The sulfonated heavy oil is added to a coal blend for coke making in an amount of 0.02 to 2wt.% based on the amount of the coal, and the resulting mixture is put in a coke oven to conduct dry distillation.

In the regenerating tower 7, an oxygen- enriched gas 8 having an oxygen concentration of 25% or higher is blown into the tower from the bottom while the absorbing soln. 4 is fed to a spray pump 6o to spray it at each plate. A two-fluid nozzle is used as the spray nozzle.
