    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove the air bubbles intruded into a coating material by forming network-like aperture of a specific range in the opening size of the meshes used for a coater pan contg. the coating material for applying coating on a metallic sheet by a coater roll. SOLUTION: The coating material from which the air bubbles are removed is supplied from a coating material discharge port 13a disposed near the bottom of a coating material prepn. tank 1 through coating material piping 13 to the coater pan 2 which is provided with a partition plate 80 so as to hold a pickup roll 15 partly immersed into the coating material in the coater pan 2. The partition plate 80 is formed of a high-molecular resin partition plate having a network-like apertures of 150 to 2000 μm in the opening size of the meshes. The upper part thereof and both side parts thereof are reinforced with SUS plates 81. As a result, the air bubbles in the coating material are trapped and ruptured by the network part when the coating material passes the network-like aperture of the partition plate 80. The air bubbles intruded into the coating material are thus efficiently defoamed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating device which efficiently removes the air bubbles included into a coating material or well disperses particles of pigments, aggregate and metallic powder, such as aluminum, in the coating material during coating a metallic sheet with a roll coater, is capable of continuously producing the coated metallic sheet with lessened occurrence of coating defects and is further suitable for production of the coated metallic sheets in a small lot. SOLUTION: This coating device has a coater pan 2 contg. the coating material for coating the metallic sheet 13 by a coater roll, a coating material recovering vessel 3 for accepting the coating material overflowing from this coater pan 2 below the coater pan 2 and a coating material tank 1 which has an ultrasonic oscillator 5 at the bottom and supplies the coating material to the coater pan 2 above the coater pan 2. The coating material recovering vessel 3 and the coating material tank 1 are connected to each other with a coating material supply piping 17 having a coating material circulating pump 4 for transferring the coating material discharged from the coating material recovering vessel 3 to the coating material tank 1 in its mid-way.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove bubbles in a coating material and to better the dispersion of particles such as pigment in the coating material and to continuously manufacture a metal plate having few defects in coating by installing a coating material tank for agitating a coating material and a coating material adjusting tank for making defoaming treatment separated from each other. SOLUTION: A coating material which has overflowed a coater pan 2 is recovered in a coating material recovery tank 3 through an overflow pipe 9. In the coating material recovery tank 3, bubbles in the coating material or bubbles generated during falling are floated and removed. The coating material after recovery is sent to a coating material tank 5 through piping 10 by a pump 4, and it is agitated by an agitator 24 there in order to uniformalize the concentration of the coating material or to uniformly disperse particles such as pigment and aggregate. While the flow rate of the coating material is adjusted by an adjusting device 12, it is sent to a coating material adjusting tank 1, and the bubbles in the coating material are enlarged by an ultrasonic oscillator 6 to effectively break them. In this way, the occurrence of defects in coating is lessened to reduce a variation in paint film thickness.
