The equipment 10 generates statistic data relating to the compression efficiency and updates the compression rule data with a updating means 14 based on the statistic data and informs the new compression rule data to the means 11 and the reception means 12. Thus, the data transmission with a highest efficiency is implemented.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the processing speed and to improve the using efficiency of a memory area by applying an interface to the data which is treated between hierarchies based on a pointer and the buffer length. CONSTITUTION:The communication controllers 10 and 20 are set at the transmission and reception sides respectively, and buffers 11 and 21 store temporarily the data which are transferred between hierarchies of a communication control program having plural hierarchical structures. A lower rank hierarchy informing means 12 informs a lower rank hierarchy of the buffer length as well as a head pointer covering the area of the buffer 11 where the data produced at its own hierarchy are temporarily stored. At the same time, a higher rank hierarchy informing means 22 informs a higher rank hierarchy of the buffer length as well as a head pointer covering the area of the buffer 21 where the data extracted by its own hierarchy are temporarily stored. Thus an interface is applied to the data which are handled between programs based on a pointer and the buffer length. As a result, the processing speed is increased and a memory is used with high efficiency.

    • PURPOSE:To transfer data at a high speed by informing a program of a pointer and the data length of a data area which are sent by a program performing the transfer of data and carrying out the transfer of data in a state where the program received the information is prevented from fetching the data on other programs. CONSTITUTION:A start pointer P1 and the length L1 of the data D1 produced from an (N+1) layer of a communication controller 1 are written into a data interface area 5. This information is sent to an N layer for request of the transfer of this information. The N layer writes the data length L2 of a start pointer P2 of the data D2 to be added to the data D1 requested by the (N+1) layer into a data interface area 5 to give this information to an (N-1) layer for request of the transfer of data. Then a physical layer sends the data 7 onto a circuit based on the area 5 storing the pointer and the length of the data D1, D2... DX produced by the layers (N+1), N... X. Thus the data can be transferred at a high speed.

CONSTITUTION:The pointer P1 and the data length L1 of data D1 generated in the (N+1)th layer of a communication controller 6 is informed to an Nth layer and data transfer is requested. When the (N+1)th layer is data which is generated at first, ID indicating that no subsequent data is present in a data interface area 5 is set. Furthermore, the Nth layer writes the pointer P1 and the data length L1 of data D1 for which the (N+1)th layer requests into the data interface area 51 of data D2 added to data D1, informs the (N-1)th layer of the pointer P2 and the data length L2 of data D2 and requests data transfer. Thus, the processing speed of data transfer is improves and the data areas can efficiently be used.
