    • PURPOSE:To save and reduce power consumption of a gate turn-OFF control circuit by detecting the fact that a P-N-P-N type switch which has gate turn- OFF function has completed the gate turn-OFF, and stopping the operation of a gate turn-OFF circuit. CONSTITUTION:A voltage is generated between the gate and the cathode of a P-N-P-N switch 16 when the switch 16 is conducted, a transistor TR14 is driven, and a collector current is flowed. This current drives the base of a TR5, and when a TR6 is turned OFF, TR10 is turned OFF. The base of a TR12 is driven, the collector current of the TR12 drives the base of the TR13, and the switch 16 is opened. When the switch 16 is opened, the TR14 is interrupted, and the TR10 is also interrupted. Accordingly, the OFF drive is stopped. When the OFF drive is not operated, the TR6 is turned ON from a terminal 2. In this manner, the OFF drive current does not flow after the completion of the gate turn OFF, thereby saving the power consumption.
