摘要： PURPOSE: To simplify the constitution for shielding light which does not pass through an image forming lens for forming an optical path reaching an optical element. CONSTITUTION: Light which enters the space part 17 in a case 14 is converged on an image sensor through the image forming lens 5. An upper case 15 and a lower case 16 are provided with light shield ribs 35 and 36 and, in the state where the upper case 15 and lower case 16 are united, the light shield ribs 35 and 36 shield the outer periphery of the image forming lens 5. In this case, a specific gap is left between the light shield ribs 35 and 36 and a subordinate light shield rib 38 formed on the upper case 15 is stood while the gap is left. Therefore, while the light shield ribs 35-37 shield light passing through parts other than the image forming lens 5, the alarm sound from a buzzer can be passed through the specific path formed out of those light shield ribs 35-37.

摘要： PURPOSE: To provide a bar code reader which can precisely be adjusted so that bar code readability becomes uniform in a read diameter and whose adjustment operation is easy. CONSTITUTION: A picture signal outputted from an image sensor in accordance with the reading of a bar code is amplified in an amplifier and is binarized in a binarization circuit. At an adjustment mode (120-Y), whenever a binarization signal is inverted during a period until scanning (reading) is terminated after the reading of the bar code is started, the signal levels of an amplification signal are detected and they are sequentially stored (140-200) after standby for prescribed time t0. After scanning is terminated, the amplitude A of the amplification signal is calculated based on the stored signal levels and the amplification factor of the amplifier is changed (230-270) when amplitude A is not within a prescribed adjustment range. Then, the detection of the signal levels, the calculation of amplitude A and comparison with the adjustment range are repetitively executed until amplitude A comes into the adjustment range. Thus, stable binarization is executed because the amplification signal having prescribed amplitude A is inputted to the binarization circuit in terms of average.

The elastic operation part 24 is provided integrally with a coating part 27 covering the part including the LED 25 of the substrate 19 to secure the creepage distance S against static electricity. The elastic operation part 24 is formed by two-color molding, and the coating part 27 is translucent and the top part of the push-button part 24a is colored.

摘要： PURPOSE:To accelerate the speed for reading optical information and to suppress the power consumption of a device for reading the optical information while using a CCD image sensor concerning this device. CONSTITUTION:Just after the power source of the CCD image sensor is turned on according to a reading command from a reading switch (t0), the cycle of a transfer clock for successively outputting image signals from the sensor is set to a start cycle shorter than normal reading time and when the power source is turned off, electric charges stored inside the sensor are speedily discharged. Afterwards, when the sensor is started and its output gets normal, the face is detected (t1) and the cycle of the transfer clock is switched to a read cycle longer than starting time when the image signals can be fetched (t2). At the same time, an illumination LED for reading object irradiation is turned on as well. As a result, the speed for reading the optical information can be accelerated by shortening the starting time of the CCD image sensor, and the power consumption can be reduced by suppressing the time for turning on the illumination LED at an irreducible minimum.

CONSTITUTION: A transistor 26 supplies a direct current to a DC/DC converter 25 in response to a current supply. A rush current limiter 28 prevents an excessive rush current from being applied to the DC/DC converter 25 by limiting the base current of the transistor 26. A rush current limitor regulator 29 operates the rush current limiter 28 so as to release the limitation of the base current of the transistor 26. An operation state detecting means 30 operates the rush current limitor regulator 29 a lapse of certain time after the start of the current supply to release the operation of the rush current limiter 28. Therefore, the rush current from the transistor 26 to the DC/DC converter 25 at the time of the start of the current supply can be limited to a certain value and, a certain lapse of time after the start, the limitation of the rush current is released.
