    • PURPOSE:To save labor and to reduce the exposure of a radiation measuring operator and to measure a radiation dosage rate by providing a radiation detector, a shield body, a driving device, a range finder, etc. CONSTITUTION:A radiation measuring instrument 1 is constituted by arranging a measurement part 4 on the universal head 3 of expansible measuring instrument support legs 2. A preamplifier 5 connected to a measurement part 4 is arranged under the universal head 3 and an amplified signal is sent to a signal processing part by a cable 6 when necessary. The measurement part 4 is equipped with the radiation detector 11 arranged in the shield body 9 with an opening part 8 and the range finder 12 fitted to the opening part 8. A driving mechanism which directs the opening part 8 of the shield body in various directions is arranged on the universal head 3. Then, the measuring instrument 1 has the universal head 3 rotated in various directions under the control of a computer and the opening part 8 is set in the direction of radiation source equipment, etc., in a target area successively; and a radiation dosage rate at each position and information on the distance between those positions and radiation measuring instrument 1 are stored in a computer.

    • PURPOSE:To decrease an overall length of a cable, and also to simplify an installation or removal work of a radiation detecting system by providing a monitor body for inputting and processing detected data sent out of the radiation detecting system, through a closed loop-shaped line. CONSTITUTION:A monitor body 33 is provided with a synchronizing signal generator. a synchronizing signal outputted from this synchronizing signal generator is superposed on this cable 32 and transmitted, and supplied to all radiation detecting systems 2-1-2-30 through a connector 34. These radiation detecting systems 2-1-2-30 input this synchronizing signal, and send out the detected data (radiation detected pulse) in a time zone which has been allocated to itself, based on said signal as a reference. This detected data are also superposed to the cable 32. The monitor body 33 amplifies the detected data sent from each radiation detection system 2-1-2-30, by a main amplifier, discriminated by a crest discriminator, displayed by an indicator at every measuring place, and also recorded by a multi-channel recorder. That it to say, since a closed loop-shaped line for including a measuring point which is forecast in advance is laid, an overall length of the cable can be shortened.

    • PURPOSE:To perform the calibration of the measuring system including the radiation detector only by the electric signal without using radiation by providing a thermion emitting body in an ionized gas in the radiation detector utilizing the ionizing action of radiation and taking out the constant electric signal to the outside of the radiation detector. CONSTITUTION:The radiation detector 11 utilizing the ionization such as an ionization chamber incorporates a thermion emitting body 12 wherein W and the like are used in the ionized gas. A constant current circuit 13 is connected to said thermion emitting body 12. The thermion is emitted by flowing a constant current. The ionization current having constant strength is taken out of a positive electrode 14 by the electric field applied to the radio detector 11, and the calibration of the entire measuring system including the radiation detector 11 can be performed by the electric signal. Instead of said thermion emitting body 11, the same calibration can be performed by emitting light from a light emitting device 17 by utilizing a photoelectron generator 18 and using the photoelectron generated in said photoelectric generator 18.
