    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate horizontal adjusting work and changing work of a ladle by hanging one side of ladle with a first support means, hanging other side of ladle with a second support means, making the ladle horizontal or inclined while elevating the second support means and making the first, second support means extendable/retractable and attachable/detachable respectively. SOLUTION: A measuring ladle 6 is hanged with four bar members 36, 36, 37, 37. A elevating means 10 arranged on a frame 20 elevates a bar member 36, the measuring ladle 6 is made horizontal state, inclined state. When the measuring ladle 6 is at inclined state, molten metal is discharged from a discharge part 6c. The upper parts of bar members 36, 37 are hanged to the frame 29 through an offset mechanism 33, extending/retracting means 22. A motor 24 of extending/retracting means 22 elevates, adjusts the bar members 36, 38 to automatically make the measuring ladle 6 horizontal. When changing the measuring ladle 6, the measuring ladle 6 is brought down on a support by the extending/retracting means 22, a hook 39 is demounted from pins 6a, 6b of the measuring ladle 6.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend a life of a molten metal tapping trough by a method wherein molten metal storing trough is made with a stopper of high melting point material engaging with a refractory inner lining of the tapping trough and then a metallic layer is melted near the stopped and an engaged state of the stopped is released to tap the molten metal. SOLUTION: A tapping trough 1 is inclined and installed between a refining furnace 10 and a casting machine 12 for an anode bar. Molten steel 5 in the refining furnace 10 is once received in an intermediate receiving tank 13 which can be tilted by inclining the furnace in a downward direction, then the molten metal is fed to a molten metal tapping trough 1. The molten metal tapping trough 1 is made such that steel shell 1a is formed with a U-shaped groove, a castable refractory material 2 is lined to its inner surface. As the molten metal tapping trough 1 is used to feed out the molten metal from the refining furnace 10, a copper layer 3 is casted to the surface of the castable refractory material 2. After this operation, an iron ball 4 is held at a projecting part of the copper layer 3 so as to prevent it from being rotated off at the extremity end of the molten metal tapping trough 1. Under this state, molten metal is flowed to stop the molten metal 5 with the iron ball 4, resulting in that the projecting part is melted and the iron ball 4 drops at the casting machine.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an anode without casting flash by spreading or applying oil containing a material to be refractory powder after burning on circumference of the inside of a mold preceding to pouring of molten copper into the mold. CONSTITUTION:At the time of casting the copper anode, the oil containing the material to be the refractory powder after burning is beforehand spread or applied on the circumference 2a of the inside. By this method, at the time of pouring the molten metal, the casting flash is not caused on the interface between the circumference 2a of the inside of the mold and the molten metal and the outer edge part at the upper side of the obtd. copper anode can be formed in the extremely smooth state. Further, by interposing the refractory stuck to the circumference of the inside of the mold in between the molten metal and the mold, wettability with the molten metal is deteriorated and heat conductivity near the circumference of the inside of the mold is lowered so as to obtain the smooth copper anode without casting flash.
