    • PURPOSE:To increase the heat transfer area and contrive to improve the heat exchanging performance by this increase by providing a communication hole for shortcircuiting on a partition wall to a flow passage upstream of a heating medium flow passage bent part a spot where a heating medium flow stagnates along a partition wall in the flow passage downstream of a bent part of a bending heating medium flow passage. CONSTITUTION:A heating medium flowing into each of flat pipes 1 from its inlet 1a follows a bent flow passage towards an outlet 16. When the heating medium reaches a bent part and changes it direction, it receives centrifugal force and apts to stagnate with almost no flow at point D along a partition wall (b) in the flow passage downstream of a bent section (c), but since the partition wall is provided with a communication hole (a) which shortcircuits the stagnating spot and the flow passage upstream of the deflecting section, part of the heating medium flowing in the upstream side flow passage passes through this communication hole and flows into the spot where stagnation is apt to generate and the stagnation is eliminated.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to keep the width on one end side of heat exchanger members by a structure wherein a spacer plate and an engagedly receiving part are formed at the one end of the heat exchanger members and a tank member is formed at the other end so as to make the width of the spacer plate equal to the height of tank in the state that the heat exchanger members are assembled to each other. CONSTITUTION:A tank part member 660 is protrusively formed on one end side of a heat exchanger member 600, at the other side of which a spacer plate 670 is integrally and protrusively formed in such a manner as to have an engaging end part 676 integrally formed at its tip. An engagedly receiving part 679 is formed at the portion, which is the other end of the heat exchanger member 600 and in which no spacer plate 670 is formed. The engagedly receiving part 679 engages with the end of the spacer plate 670 of the opposite heat exchanger member 600. In addition, the height of the distance plate 670 is set to be equal to the height of the tank part member 660 in the state that the tank members of the heat exchanger members 600 opposite to each other are connected with each other. Consequently, the height of the one end side of the heat exchanger members is kept constant by the tank members and the width of its other end side is also kept constant by the spacer plate.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a displacement flow of medium in flat pipes at both ends in a layered type heat exchanger by a method wherein the flow is partially branched in a lateral direction by interfering a flow of medium along ribs of a core plate. CONSTITUTION:A plate is of aluminum or brass plate of metal having a superior thermal conductivity. A core plate 10 is provided with an inlet tank part A and an outlet tank part B through a pressing work. It is further provided with one center rib 8 at its lower inner surface extending downwardly from between both tanks and terminating at a position slightly above a lower end of the plate and a group of several short slant ribs 9. A joint plate 11 is provided with an inlet tank part A' and an outlet tank part B' combining with the inlet tank part A and the outlet tank part B of the core plate 10 at its upper end. Although its lower inner surface is flat, several small ribs 12 are punched out by a press. When overlapped, they are arranged at such positions as one in which they project out into vacant portions 13 between the ribs 9. If the ribs 12 are arranged in a zig-zag form, they may provide a similar medium dispersion even if the number of ribs is reduced to half.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent both communication holes from deviating in positions from each other and also to prevent a coolant and oil components from staying by bringing a plurality of engaging tongue pieces formed in one communication hole into contact with another communication hole by caulking deformation. CONSTITUTION:Since engaging tongue pieces 20... are caulked and position aligning of communication holes 9a and 9b is conducted, there is no position deviation between the communication holes 9a and 9b. Even when a coolant flows in a direction shown by an arrow, since these engaging tongue pieces 20... are formed peripherally with gaps therebetween, the coolant does not stay in the circumference of the upstream side of the communicating hole 9a and oil components within the coolant do not stay. Further, since by the caulking of the engaging tongue pieces 20... molding plates 7a and 7b can be temporarily fastened, handling in the case of laminating a number of elements 6... to braze all of them becomes easy. By the caulking of these engaging tongue pieces 20... gaps are difficult to be formed between the molding plates 7a and 7b. Consequently, adherence of the molten brazing material at the time of brazing is improved and positive bonding becomes possible.
