    • PURPOSE:To obtain a high strength eye ball member with a small number of component parts, by constituting the eye ball member with a spring plate receiving part having a rectangular pipe shape and made of a pipe material, and a cylindrical supporting part integrally formed with the receiving part and fitted therein with an eye ball part bushing. CONSTITUTION:An eye ball member 5 includes, at its one end, a spring plate receiving part 5a having a rectangular pipe shape and an opening having such a size that allows the end part of an FRP spring plate to be inserted and fitted thereinto, and, at the other end, a cylindrical supporting part 5b integrally and continuously formed with the spring plate receiving part 5a. This cylindrical supporting part 5b is formed with a through-hole 10 piercing through the supporting part 5b in the direction orthognal to the axis thereof. Further, an eye ball bushing 11 is received in the through-hole 10. The spring plate receiving part 5a and the cylindrical supporting part 5b may be integrally formed together with the use of a metal pipe, thereby the eye ball member 5 may be easily made to high strength.

    • PURPOSE:To contrive to reduce the weight and maximum stress of the device by a structure wherein an auxiliary leaf spring is set shorter than main leaf springs and the stress distribution in the main springs is formed uniformly. CONSTITUTION:The main leaf springs 1 with the effective length of L and the auxiliary leaf spring 2 with the effective length of l are piled up in the direction of leaf thickness ones on the other and supported in the manner of cantilever at base parts 3 and 4 through a supporting means 5. The lengths L0 and l0 which are the distances from the longitudinal center 6 of the main and auxiliary leaf springs 1 and 2 to the loading points 7 and 8 respectively, are set at the predetermined values. The half of the load to be applied to the device P/2 is supported at the loading point 7. In addition, the springs constitute so that, when the predetermined load P0 is not smaller than the load P, only the main leaf springs 1 fulfil spring action and, when the predetermined load P0 is smaller than the load P, both the main leaf spring and the auxiliary leaf spring fulfil spring action. Owing to the structure as described above, the stress distribution in the main springs is uniformalized, resulting in enabling to reduce the weight and maximum stress of the device.

    • PURPOSE:To make the distribution of stress uniform and reduce the weight of material, by providing an auxiliary leaf spring, which constitutes a piled leaf spring, with a tapered portion whose thickness decreases gradually toward the tip of the auxiliary leaf spring. CONSTITUTION:Main leaf springs 1 have tapered portions 6,... whose thickness decreases gradually toward the tips of the main leaf springs 1. The effective lengths of the main leaf springs 1 are made almost equal to each other. The main leaf springs 1 have a looped portion 7 and a wound portion 8 at the tips of the main leaf springs 1. An auxiliary leaf spring 10 comprises a tapered portion 12 whose thickness decreases toward the tip of the auxiliary leaf spring 10 and an arc-shaped portion 13 protruded toward the tension side. The effective length of the auxiliary leaf spring 10 is made almost equal to that of the main leaf springs 1. The arc-shaped portion 13 is supported so that it can come into and out of contact with the main leaf spring 1. The tapered portion 12 is kept out of contact with the main leaf spring 1. When load P is lower than a predetermined value Po, only the main leaf springs 1 act. When the load P is higher than the value Po, the main leaf spring 1 comes into contact with the arc-shaped portion 13 of the auxiliary leaf spring 10 so that the auxiliary lead spring 10 acts together with the main leaf springs 1. When the load P is equal to the value Po, the action of the leaf springs 1, 10 changes discontinuously. This results in improving the stability of a vehicle both in the unloaded state and in the loaded state.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain desirable friction resistance between the plates without increasing the weight by so designing the device that the sliding members with the comb- shaped cross section are fixed on the plate end parts which are facing to each other and the teeth parts are engaged to each other slidably in the longitudinal direction of the spring plate. CONSTITUTION:The sliding members 5, 6 are fixed on the opposing positions of the plate end parts 1b, 2b of the spring plates 1, 2. The sliding members 5, 6 have the tooth part 7 and the notched part 8 alternatively to form the comb-shaped cross section. The tooth part 7 is engaged with the notched part 8 on the other side, and the teeth 7 are engaged slidably in the longitudinal direction of the spring plates 1, 2. When the plates 1, 2 are bent by the change in the load, the teeth 7 of the sliding members 5, 6 are rubbed against each other. By doing so, the friction resistance between the plates are increased as the number of the sliding surfaces becomes greater than that of the existing spring device.
