    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal seam welding method which solves a problem that a combustion hole can be generated in a strip edge at a leading part and a terminating end of a weld joint when performing the horizontal seam welding with an arc welding torch. SOLUTION: In a method for performing the welding between the ends of two metal strips, and butted ends are joined with each other with a TIG torch horizontally movable in the longitudinal direction of the metal strips. Thin pieces 9 and 10 are abutted on the long edges of the metal strips 1 and 1a in a butted area, the thin pieces 9 and 10 are connected to the edges in the longitudinal direction of the metal strips by means of a spot weld of the TIG torch in the butted area, and the strip end parts are welded to each other by moving the welding torch along the butted edges. The welding torch is ignited on one of the thin pieces, and moved up to the thin metal plates 9 and 10 facing each other, and the thin metal plates 9 and 10 are removed from the long edges.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for consecutively manufacturing a spirally corrugated metal tube capable of manufacturing a shorter pitched wave tube, especially a shorter tube having an outside diameter of not more than 6 mm by improving the conventional device.
      SOLUTION: The device for consecutively manufacturing the spirally corrugated metal tube is characterized in that the device manufactures consecutively the spirally corrugated tubes (12, 14) composed of a corrugated head (11) rotatably driven so that a corrugated chemical engineering implement (16) is supported internally so as to freely rotate eccentrically against long axes of the metal tubes (12, 14) and the corrugated chemical engineering implement (16) is at least a round plate, and an eccentric position of the round plate against the long axes of the metal tubes (12, 14) can be adjustable and the round plate rolls on the metal tubes (12, 14) together with its circumferential surface.
