    • PURPOSE:To promote the mixing of absorbing liquid and improve the absorbing performance of the tube by a method wherein a multitude of protuberances, extending continuously or intermittently in substantially parallel to the axis of the heat transfer tube, are formed on the outer periphery of the heat transfer tube. CONSTITUTION:The flow of liquid is precluded by the resistances of the protuberances 4, substantially parallel to the axial direction of the heat transfer tube 1, the drop of the liquid into the peripheral direction of the tube is precluded and the liquid spreads into the direction of the axis 1a along the protuberances, therefore, the stagnating time of liquid film is prolongated and gas-liquid contacting time, necessary for the absorption, can be secured sufficiently. On the other hand, in case the protuberances 4 are continued, the amount of stagnating liquid in the grooves between protuberances 4, 4 arranged in peripheral direction is increased, the liquid, overflowed from the grooves, moves to the grooves between the protuberances below the grooves under overriding the protuberances 4 and moves to the grooves 9 formed by the lower protuberanes 5after passing through flat portions 6 when it is spread to a place whereat the flat section 6 is existing in case the protuberances are provided intermittently, therefore, the thickness of the liquid film may be uniformed and, at the same time, Marangoni convection, generated by the density difference of the absorbing liquid, is generated into the axial direction of the tube, in which the flow resistance is small, and, whereby, the absorbing liquid may be mixed well.
