    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a faucet-mounting fluid saving promotion device having a compact, simple constitution capable of moving an elevating and lowering member according to fluid pressure.
      SOLUTION: A cylindrical elevating and lowering member 20 is arranged in a movement passage 13 vertically extending along the inner circumferential surface of a cylindrical, transparent side case section 3, and a fluid flows downwards through the movement passage 13 in a water saving promotion device 1 (the fluid saving promotion device) mounted to a water service faucet. A ring-like pressure receiving plate 22 is formed in such a way as to extend inwards from the inner circumferential surface of the elevating and lowering member 20, and the upward flow of a fluid hits the pressure receiving plate 22 to make an upward force corresponding to fluid pressure act. The elevating and lowering member 20 rises to a position at which the upward force and gravity are balanced with each other. The position of the elevating and lowering member 20 can be visually observed from the outside through the transparent side case section 3. Since it is understood that water is discharged too much in the case that the elevating and lowering member 20 is elevated too much, it is possible to promote water saving.

The circular edge 14a is in a tilt shape descending from the downstream side toward the upstream side, and the water tends to flow out on the upstream side in comparison with the downstream side, since the gap G is larger in height at the upstream side. Accordingly, the water flow can be spread to the upstream side without converging it on the downstream side, thereby uniformizing the water flow in the channels and reducing the pressure loss caused by the water meter 1.
