摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a safety device for preventing an electron beam linear acceleration irradiation device and a rotary chair, a patient seated thereon or an operator of the rotary chair in a surgical treatment system of sitting position irradiation from collision or contact with each other. CONSTITUTION:A sensor support ring 11 is mounted on the peripheral edge of an electron beam irradiation section of an electron beam linear acceleration irradiation device. On the sensor support ring 11 are mounted a fixing device 12 capable of fixedly changing the directions of X, Y and Z axes of the support ring and at least two sensor support levers 14, 15. The sensors are mounted respectively on the sensor support levers 14, 15 to be directed in the different directions by the fixing device 12. A safety device 16 is operated to stop the rotation of the electron beam linear acceleration irradiation device according to at least one output of the sensors. Also, the two sensor support levers 14, 15 are directed at a right angle and opposite direction to each other.

CONSTITUTION:When the drive switch of mobile cylinders 118 is turned on to increase the pressure of the cylinders 118, the pistons 154 of the mobile cylinders 118 are extended in the length direction, and L-shaped arms 151 are rotated clockwise or counterclockwise centering on fulcrums 153. The L-shaped arms 151 are rotated downward, rollers 119 fitted to the L-shaped arms 151 are protruded from the openings 112 of a revolving chair grounding base 111, and a revolving chair is made movable. When the drive switch is turned in the direction to decrease the pressure of the mobile cylinders 118, the L-shaped arms 151 are rotated in the opposite direction, and the rollers 119 are stored in the openings 112. The revolving chair is made immovable by its weight and the friction of a bottom section. The movement and fixing of the revolving chair are facilitated.

The image analyzing means 43 calculates the drift between the signal indicating the position of the laser beams and the signal indicating the position of the rotation center of the revolving chair 300, and a control circuit 44 controls a servo motor adjusting the sliding systems of the revolving chair 300 to match the rotation centers of the electron beam linear accelerating/irradiating device 41 and the revolving chair 300.

In the apparatus as mentioned above, the position and the shape of the lesion 65 are analyzed based on image information obtained by a CT scanning of the lesion 5. Then, the lesion 65 is irradiated entirely with the radiation beam 64 according to the analyzed results. Thus, the center of rotation of the revolving chair 63 is moved in axes X and Y separately with a sliding mechanism not illustrated in the figure while a seat part is moved in axes X, Y and Z separately.
