    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snap fastener with a locking mechanism that has a small number of parts, uses almost no metal, and does not require a key.SOLUTION: A female part 2 is provided with an operating plate 4 that is installed on the front surface of a first fabric P1, a spring 5, a base 6, and a support 7 that is installed on the back surface of the first fabric P1. A male member 3 is provided with an engaging projection 8 that is installed on the front surface of a second fabric P2 and a support 9 that is installed on the back surface of the second fabric P2. The operating plate has a partially cut pressing piece 42 and a pressing projection provided on the underside of the pressing piece. The spring has inner arcs 53 extending to the right and to the left which terminate with a small gap 54 between the tips thereof. The gap 54 between the tips of the inner arcs is widened by the downward pressing force of the pressing projection, and is restored to the original shape when the downward pressing force is removed. The base has a space that accommodates the spring.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve strength and durability of a hook-and-loop fastener by integrally laminating a reinforcing material layer on a base cloth and arranging a reinforcing material layer on the surface side. SOLUTION: A reinforcing material layer 3 is laminated on a hook-and-loop fastener 2 of an engaging material 1. This hook-and-loop fastener 2 forms an engaging element face planted with loop-form engaging elements 2b and hook- form engaging elements 2c in a mixed manner on one surface of a base cloth 2a, and forms a reinforcing material layer 3 on its surface side so that the engaging element face comes to the inner side. The reinforcing material layer 3 is formed by sequentially laminating an adhesive layer 3c, a synthetic resin foamed material layer 3a and a resin film layer 3b, and is laminated on the base cloth 2a with the adhesive layer 3c. The edge part of the reinforcing material layer 3 is compressed and fused by heating to form a widthwise convex central part, and letters are printed on the surface. A constriction 1a is formed at the lengthwise center of the engaging material 1. Thereby, the strength and durability can be improved.
