    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered compact which essentially comprises aluminum oxide and silicon oxide, makes efficient use of water-purification sludge waste or sewage sludge waste and reduces production cost, its manufacturing method, an inorganic powder, a degradation accelerator for a biodegradable resin, an improver of moisture-absorption/-release properties, a biodegradable modified resin and a moisture-absorbing/-releasing plastered wall material. SOLUTION: The water-purification sludge waste is hot-air-dried at 100°C for 3 hr and ground in a stamping mill for 3 hr to obtain the inorganic powder. The inorganic powder is subjected to double-action pressing under 30 MPa in a mold for ϕ100 mm, subsequently introduced into an alumina setter with a bottom plate placed therein and subjected to atmospheric furnace sintering through a process wherein it is heated to 1,140°C at 1°C/min, maintained at 1,140°C for 10 hr, cooled to 800°C at 1°C/min, cooled to 500 °C at 5°C/min and furnace-cooled at ≤500°C.
