    • PURPOSE:To efficiently collect chips made by processing, by putting the chips into a hopper under a processing base after the processing and by then sucking the chips to an ejector to send the chips to a collecting box without causing the chips to jam. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece is put on supports 3 on a spherical base 2 having the same spherical center as the workpiece. An edge preparation machine is run on a rail 4 around the workpiece to process the edge of the workpiece. After the processing, a lid 10 is removed from a chip hopper 9 provided nearly at the center of the spherical base 2 and an air ejector 11 is started for suction. Chips P made by the processing are thrown into the hopper 9 by a rake 12 or the like. Compressed air A is supplied to the air ejector 11 through a valve 15 from a pipe 14 fitted with a source valve 13, so that the chips P are sucked by the ejector and sent to a chip collecting box 6 through a pipe 16.

    • PURPOSE:To efficiently cut off the plate of closing belt to be collected for a spherical tank, by fixing a cutting jig, to which a rail is mounted, to a predetermined position on a sheet material and allowing a self-propelled saw to run on the rail. CONSTITUTION:A sheet material 1 of aluminum is placed on a wooden bed 2. A cutting jig 5, to which a self-propelled saw 3 and a running rail 4 of the self- propelled saw are mounted, is fixed to a predetermined position on the material by an I-bolt 6 and a hanging metal fixture 8 and clamps 12. The sheet material 1 of aluminum is cut off by allowing the self-propelled saw 3 to run on the rail 4 further rotating a saw tooth 3A of the saw 3. Here the speed of cutting is suitably selected by a thickness or the like of the sheet material 1 of aluminum but set to a speed of about 1m/min.

    • PURPOSE:To enable economic machining and reduce the area of an occupied floor, by providing a spacer on the spherical top of a rest to fit a spherical part of a curvature radius different from that of a spherical shell, so that spherical shells different in radius of curvature can be machined by using the single rest. CONSTITUTION:A rest 1 is used to perform machining such as the edge preparation of the plate of a pressed spherical aluminum shell for a spherical tank. A spherical part A with a radius of curvature A is secured on the top of the rest 1 supported by pedestals 3 on an installation surface 2. A spacer 4 with a saw-tooth form is provided on the spherical part 1A of the rest 1. An attachment 5 having a spherical part 5A with a radius of curvature B is removably assembled on the spacer 4 to machine a spherical shell with the radius of curvature B. According to this constitution, spherical shells different in radius of curvature can be machined by using the single rest.

CONSTITUTION:Upon working, two reference lines X-X, Y-Y which are orthogonal together are marked on the surface of a bed 2 having a concave spherical surface with a radius of curvature which is larger than, by a predetermined length, the radius of curvature of a spherical shell 1 that are formed by press- working an aluminium plate to be worked. Then, using the cross point G of both reference lines as the original point, locus points P used to determine the positions where rails 4 on which a self-travelling type bevelling machine 3 travels, are set. With the use of the locus points P as a reference, the rails 4 are arranged along the four side outer periphery of the spherical shell 1 by means of a support 6, and the spherical surface 1 is disposed within an area surrounded by the rails 4, through a support 7. Thereafter, the four sides of the spherical shell 1 is subjected to the working of bevelling by a milling cutter in a working machine.
