    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a V-ribbed belt and the V- ribbed belt with such advantages as high wear resistance and cold resistance without having to apply surface treatment such as grinding and polishing.
SOLUTION: An unvulcanized belt sleeve 11 in which a canvas 15 with a rubber, an unvulcanized adhesive rubber sheet 12, a tensile body rope 13 and an unvulcanized compression rubber sheet 20 provided with a metal and/or a ceramic reinforcing layer 16 are successively and endlessly wound on the cylindrical drum 21, is disposed to an inner cylindrical drum 21 equipped with a flexible jacket 22. Air is injected in the flexible jacket 22 to uniformly expand the jacket 22 in the radial direction, so as to closely adhere the unvulcanized belt sleeve 11 to an outer mold 26 engraved with a V shaped groove to vulcanize. The vulcanized belt sleeve thus obtained is cut to a desired width to provide a V-ribbed belt having a reinforcing layer on a compression rubber surface.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission belt such as a V-ribbed belt and a low edge V belt capable of reducing deviated motion on one side caused when a rear surface of the belt is abutted on and engaged with an idler pulley and preventing occurrence of abnormal sound.
SOLUTION: This power transmission belt 1 is constituted by burying a core wire 2 into a bonded rubber layer 3 along the longitudinal direction of the belt, arranging a compressed rubber layer 4 adjacent to the bonded rubber layer 3, and laminating at least the rear surface 6 of the belt by a sail cloth 5. A connection line 13 for connecting each crossing point 12 of a weft 10 and a warp 11 of the sail cloth 5 is inclined for an axial line 15 in the longitudinal direction of the belt, and the direction of the inclination of the connection line 13 is the same direction as the direction of final twisting of the core wire 2.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a toothed belt capable of reducing a frictional coefficient of a contact surface of the belt with a pulley while obtaining a high energy efficiency or a high production efficiency without advancing aging of a rubber without reducing adhesive properties of a toothed cloth with a surface of a tooth or a tooth space. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the toothed belt B comprises the steps of providing a plurality of teeth 3 on the back part 1 of the belt in which core wires 2 are embedded at a predetermined interval longitudinally of the belt, and coating the toothed cloth 5 along the surface of the teeth 3 and the surface of the tooth spaces 4 between the teeth 3 to form the belt B. The method further comprises the steps of laminating an adhesive rubber layer on one side surface of the cloth 5 dipped in a rubber paste, and coating a fluoropaint on the other side surface of the cloth 5. The method also comprises the steps of winding the cloth 5 on the outer periphery of a mold having grooves for molding the teeth with the coating surface of the fluoropaint disposed at an inner surface side, spirally winding the wires 2 on the outer periphery of the mold from above the cloth 5, and then further coating and winding a rubber sheet thereon. The method also comprises the steps of heating and vulcanizing the rubber sheet.
