    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device capable of more reliably preventing an operator from falling from an operator cab of a picking forklift.SOLUTION: A safety device 10A includes: an electrically-conductive belt 11 to be worn by an operator; an electrically-conductive safety belt 12 which has one end connected to the belt 11 via a connecting fitting provided with play and the other end connected in an insulated manner to a frame 7 of an operator cab; an electrostatic capacity comparison part 15 which is connected in an electrically conductive manner to the other end of the safety belt 12, which detects an associated electrostatic capacity C associated with the one end of the safety belt 12, and which compares a preset threshold capacity C1 and the associated electrostatic capacity C on the basis of the operator's electrostatic capacity; and a vehicle control part 20 which changes an operating state of a picking forklift depending on whether the magnitude relation between the threshold capacity C1 and the associated electrostatic capacity C is changed during a preset determination period.
