    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner, surely and quickly starting a DC brushless motor for driving a compressor and a starting method of the DC brushless motor. SOLUTION: In this air conditioner 1 having the compressor 4 driven by the DC brushless motor 7, a refrigerant passage 2 is provided with a bypass pipeline 11 connecting the inlet side of the compressor and the outlet side of the compressor, and a pressure measuring device 13 for measuring the refrigerant pressure on the inlet side of the compressor, and an equalizer valve 12 is provided in the bypass pipeline 11.
