    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance precision in radiation detection by a semiconductor detecting element.
      SOLUTION: A measuring electrode and a guard electrode are provided in a semiconductor crystal generating a charge when irradiated with a radiation. The guard electrode is provided in a position capable of collecting a large amount of the charges generated in a peripheral area of the semiconductor crystal. The radiation is measured using the charges collected by the measuring electrode. In this detector, the radiation is measuable without being affected by abnormality of a characteristic in an area near to a worked face of the semiconductor crystal. Positional precision and directivity for the radiation detection are enhanced also in the semiconductor detector having an array comprising the plurality of detecting elements provided with the measuring electrodes and the guard electrodes.
