    • PURPOSE:To make a design endurable against a high pressure unnecessary by setting in advance a throttle of a nozzle and the second throat to a desired wind velocity or below flowing compressed air, and thereafter, changing said throttle to a throttle of a desired wind velocity in order of the second throat and the nozzle. CONSTITUTION:In case when a wind velocity of Mach 4 is operated on a specimen, a nozzle 6 is set in advance to a desired wind velocity or below, for instance, to a shape of Mach 3.5 by a jack 9 before opening a relief valve 4, and subsequently, the second throat 7 is set to an opening (dotted line position) corresponding to said Mach 3.5. Next, the relief valve 4 is opened quickly, and pressure in an aggregate cylinder 5 is raised to the minimum necessary pressure corresponding to said Mach 3.5. In this case, a vertical impulse wave Z is in a position (a). In this state, the second throat 7 is set to an opening of Mach 4 shown by a full line, but the vertical impulse wave Z scarcely moves from the position (a). Subsequently, the nozzle 6 is set to a desired wind velocity, for instance, to a shape of Mach 4. As a result, a necessary wind velocity of Mach 4 is obtained in a measuring cylinder S, and also since the vertical impulse wave is in a position (b), no subsonic flow is generated in the measuring cylinder S.
