    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the adhesivity by improving the penetrability of moisture and starch particles into the glueing surface of the liner paper glued to the starch solution-coated tops of the corrugations of a waved inner paper, when the tops of the corrugations of the inner paper are glued to the liner paper, in a manufacturing process of double-faced corrugated cardboards.
      SOLUTION: Prior to a pressing process to bond the inner paper to the liner paper, a wetting process is provided to impart a prescribed amount of water to inner paper (n) and the liner paper by bringing the glueing surfaces of the inner paper and the liner paper into contact with wetting roll 2 which is installed in a way that its axis direction is in line with the with direction of the inner paper (n) and the liner paper and carries a water film on its outer surface. The water content of the entire glueing surfaces is adjusted to the one optimum for the penetration of the moisture and the starch particles coated on the tops of the corrugations of the inner paper to the glueing surfaces of the inner paper (n) in the succeeding pressing process. Preferably, the water content is 3-6 wt.%. As a result, poor glueing is prevented and a double-faced corrugated cardboard having a good adhesion of the inner paper and the liner paper (n) is manufactured.
