    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooler which can be miniaturized while enhancing the cooling characteristics.
SOLUTION: A pipe 5 containing a metal body 7 exhibiting magnetism is arranged in the vertical direction, and a heat receiving portion 2 to which a heating element 1 is attached is provided on the outer circumference at the lower portion of the pipe 5. At the upper portion of the pipe 5 on the opposite side, an electromagnet 8 is arranged and connected with a DC power supply 9 through a switch 10, and a fin 6 is fixed to the outer circumference at the upper portion of the pipe 5. When the heat conducted from the heating element 1 through the heat receiving portion 2 is stored in the metal body 7, the switch 10 is turned on and electromagnetic force of the electromagnet 8 acts to carry the metal body 7 to the opposite side of the heating element 1. Heat is conducted to the fin 6 so long as the electromagnet 8 is coupled with the metal body 7 and the heat is dissipated from the fin 6. When the switch 10 is turned off, the metal body 7 from which heat is dissipated falls gravitationally and returns back to the heat receiving portion 2 side. Cooling characteristics can be enhanced by using the metal body for transportation of heat thereby enhancing heat conduction characteristics.
