      SOLUTION: A current source 1 supplies a drive current Id to a laser diode D1. A photodiode D2 receives light 2 emitted from the laser diode D1, and outputs a photodetection current Iop proportional to the light power thereof. A current converting circuit 3 outputs a first current I1 and a second current I2 proportional to the photodetection current Iop. A variable resistance 4 outputs a first voltage V1 represented as the product of its resistance value and the first current I1. A current source control circuit 5 controls the current source 1 so that the absolute value of the difference voltage between the first voltage V1 and a predetermined control voltage Vcon decreases. A variable resistance control circuit 6 controls the variable resistance 4 so that the resistance value of the variable resistance 4 is larger and larger as the ratio of the second current I2 to the drive current Id is smaller and smaller.

    • PURPOSE:To set wiring width large, reduce wiring resistance, and decrease the time constant or the voltage drop of wirings, by a method wherein, when a plurality of IC's and a plurality of wirings for connecting the IC's are formed on a single semiconductor substrate, at least one of wirings is not connected with each of the IC's. CONSTITUTION:Whether each of the IC's 2, 3, 4,... is acceptable is judged by wafer test. For example, when the IC's 2, 3 are judged to be acceptable, and the IC's 4 is judged to be not acceptable, signal wiring parts 5a-5c connecting the IC 4 and signal wirings 5 are cut at part positions (a), (b), (c) by laser trimming. The IC's 2, 3 which have been judged to be acceptable and a power supply wiring 6 are subjected to bonding by using wires 7. The IC 4 which has been judged to be not acceptable is put in the state isolated from the wirings 5, 6. Thereby the wiring 6 is not connected with imperfect IC's, so that the width of the wiring 6 can be set wider by that amount.
