    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator that has a mechanism for easily opening and closing a cover of a storage compartment by operating a lever rather than lifting up the cover, thus making the refrigerator very usable even for a short person.SOLUTION: The refrigerator includes a receiving part (pocket 2) and a cover (lid 3) which are a vertically divided storage container 1 provided on the inner side of a door 10. The lid 3 is pivotally attached to the pocket 2 for vertical rotation. A lever 4 is provided for opening the lid 3 upward via a link 5. When the lever 4 is released, the lid 3 closes with its own weight.
