    • PURPOSE: To enable a titled lens barrel usable for either two kinds of types of variable power optical systems by changing over the state in which a mechanism for correcting the change in an aperture diameter ratio functions and the state in which said mechanism does not function by a manual selective operation.
      CONSTITUTION: An interlocking pin A27 projected to an aperture retaining ring 8 engages with a groove provided to a changeover cam plate 10 fixed to a manual changeover ring 11. The groove consists of two grooves; a straight guide 40 in parallel with the optical axis and a cam groove A42. Even if the aperture retaining ring is moved forward or backward by a zooming operation, said ring does not rotate and the aperture diameter does not change while the pin 27 is in engagement with the guide 40. When the ring 11 is pushed leftward against a spring 35, a cam plate 10 is moved leftward by l1, and the pin 27 is moved through a changeover groove 41 toward the groove A42. If zooming is performed, the ring 8 is rotated by the engagement with the pin 27 and the groove 42, whereby the aperture diameter is changed according to the focal length.

    • PURPOSE: To execute proper focus aid display corresponding to an individual operating direction and to improve the freedom of design of interchangeable lenses and their interchangeability by forming an operating direction information means so that its information can be outputted to a camera body.
      CONSTITUTION: The operating direction information means 37 has information related to the operating direction of a focusing member 8 fitted to an interchangeable lens 1 in accordance with the change of a distance from a subject and applies the information as electric and mechanical outputs to the camera body having a focus aid function to which the lens 1 is fitted so that a command to the focusing operation direction for focusing based upon the focus aid function is displayed in accordance with the operating direction of the member 8 to the focusing side. When the operating direction of the member 8 is changed in accordance with the switching of the using status of a zoom area and a macro area by the lens 1, the means 37 outputs two kinds of information corresponding to both the operating directions to the camera body to display the operating direction in accordance with the change of the operating direction of the member 8.
