When a red picture is copied, a bias voltage lower than that for normal copy is impressed to a grid electrode of a scotron charger 2 from a power source 11, and the suface of the drum is charged electrostatically with a potential Vo2 lower than Vo1. A voltage higher than that for normal copy is impressed to an image exposure lamp 3, and the red picture is illuminated with an exposure illuminance higher than E1. A bias voltage Vb2 lower than that for normal copy is impressed to a developing electrode, and the red original is copied on these conditions.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent an effect of ozone on a photosensitive body and to stabilize an electrophotographic image by controlling ozone concn. in an atm. surrounding said body having a photoconductive layer contg. a phthalocyanine type pigment to a prescribed value or less. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 2 provided with a photoconductive layer contg. phthalocyanine type pigment on the surface is installed in the main body 1 of a copying machine. Ozone concn. in an atm. surrounding the drum 2 is detected with a gas sensor 28 using phthalocyanine as its element material, and when it is over a prescribed value, the corona current of a scorotron type electrostatic charger 3 is lowered to within a prescribed value. As a result, generation of ozone due to action of the charger 3 is suppressed to control the ozone concn. in an atm. of the drum 2 to a prescribed value or less, and adverse effect of ozone on the drum 2 is thus prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To stabilize an electrophotographic picture by controlling an ozone concentration in a photosensitive body portion atmosphere to a prescribed value or below. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 2 having a photoconductive layer containing a phthalocyanine compound pigment on the surface is provided in a copying machine body 1 so as to be driven to rotate counterclockwise. CONSTITUTION:A grid extended between a discharge electrode 1 and a photosensitive body 3 is divided into two, namely, G1 and G2, and voltages of 300V and 600V are impressed to the grid G1 and G2, respectively. As for an electrostatic charging device of this constitution, the surface potential of the photosensitive body 3 has two stages, rises up to the potential of the grid G2, a charging current becomes a distribution having two peaks, and a peak value of its current is suppressed low.
