    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore a clogged nozzle without destraction of the meniscus of the nozzle.SOLUTION: After a cap 1 having a pressure sensor 2 is put over part of a plurality of nozzles 103 formed on the nozzle surface 102 of the head 101 of an ink jet printer, a nozzle suction device 100 sucks at a pressure target higher than the pressure destroying the meniscus of the nozzle 103 without the cap 1 put on. Restoration of the nozzle is determined by comparing a reference pressure value 120 preliminarily stored and obtained by sucking a non-clogged nozzle 103 by the cap 1 with a pressure value outputted by the pressure sensor 2. The method enables restoration of a clogged nozzle 103 without destraction of the meniscus of the nozzle 103.
